cf/x plug standard features: selecting the active area:

since we know that you usually want to apply an effect only on part of a clip instead of all of it, all our plugs let you define that active area with a simple-to use 'active area rectangle'. and in order to be sure that you select the correct area, we will always show you a large (640x480) representation of your clip. it is on this representation that you define the active area.
how does it work? simple. all you need to do is to press the 'configure' button. instantly you will be presented with a dialog similar to the one on the right (of course, your picture would look differently).

drag the handles or the whole rectangle until you have selected the correct location. then press ok. it's easy as that!

choosing a color

some plugs allow you to choose one to many colos to work with. whenever you have this option, all our plugs will allow you two choices:

  • use the color picker. this is the good old Mac color picker - along with any pickers you may have installed (and yes, this includes any color sync devices)
  • we feel, though, that most of the time you'd like to simply point at a part of the movie and say 'hey, take this color!'. this is where the 'eye dropper' tool comes in. click on it, click inside the clip and you have instantly selected the color you see. simple? you bet.
